I can't believe I didn't see this coming.

It's not like I've never had a three-year-old girl before. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck of parenting, so to speak. She's not the first one of the bunch to do this...and come to think of it, she's right on schedule.

So when she came to me and asked me for scissors, what did I think she was up to? Clipping coupons?

I think it works for her, don't you? The shaggy-bang-mullet look is going to be all the pre-school rage this spring.

More tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

When I was about 7, my 8-year-old brother cut out a nice big section in the middle of my front locks -- the day before our class picture! It's still one of my best childhood photos :-)

I agree, not a bad job at all.
You don't think she got inspired by your Public Bookstore logo perchance?

i cut the end of my pony tail off once. a big fat chunk of it that of course left the ends all jagged. this is really stylish by comparison!

She looks adorable!

Recently I walked into my three year old's room, and followed a trail of locks of hair until I found her joyfully cutting up stuff in her closet. I actually cried! Her hair has finally grown out again, so I can laugh about it now, but just barely.

I felt the same way a few weeks ago, when one of my girls (also 3) was under the table with the scissors. I know she STARTED with paper, but I was distracted. She was gleefully jumping around the kitchen a few minutes later and curls were falling from her head with every jump. Not so visible in her curls, though as yours--you have my sympathy and understanding-it happens to the best of us, LOL.
