Friday Happiness

I've stopped buying flowers ever since the flowers started blooming around the yard. There is always something to cut and bring in the house, now. Deadheaded pansies in a tiny bud vase. Sage and thyme and oregano for gorgeous, fragrant little bouquets (although the oregano leaves brown up pretty quickly). The last of the peonies.
But I saw bunches of Feverfew at the market, and they called to me. I'd never heard the name before, but don't you love it? I picture it as something growing in a field in the English countryside. I think these were from New Jersey.
The way the blooms and buds intertwine and go off in spindly directions remind me of Jen's drawings. Not as much as her flowers, here, but still.
Today is the first day of echoes::summer is... Some lovely artistic inspiration there. And then you can even go and add something of your own, here.
And tomorrow night, Bill Mead will be at eyebuzz for the opening reception of Vessel Paintings. Come join us, if you're in town. There are some pretty fantastic things going on in Tarrytown this weekend, to celebrate the Hudson River's Quadricentennial.
And one last thing: I can not get enough of Iron and Wine. If you're looking for some new music, and haven't heard them (or heard of them), you might like to check them out, here.
Enjoy the weekend! Thanks for reading.

Tara - I have feverfew sprouting up all over my yard. Please come and remove some for your bouquets.
Tara thank you for the kind mention & link to echoes, we're happy you're part of the group.
Also I just visited your gallery's lovely website. You carry some nice work there and oh my, with a gallery and six children, you are busy!
Happy weekend!

It's so cold here right now, it seems my peonies are shivering in the harsh winds. They're holding on for dear life, anything to avoid blooming in this June turned October. But they're lovely, still.
Have a good weekend.

Thanks for the links...i'm off to check them out!
Feverfew is supposed to help with migraines, I think.
I've never heard Iron & Wine--I'm off to check them out right now!
