Yes, well. Here we are again.
I am still loving
pots of tea,
and my neighbors and friends;
my girls' smiles and laughter,
but not so much
their sullen faces in the morning,
and their energy
at night,
long after mine
has vacated
the premises.
I am loving, lately,
the subtler palette
of late fall days,
which even now
have not really chilled
quite enough
to my liking.
I want to bundle up.
I want cheeks to flush
upon walking,
and scarves
to be necessary.
I want to come home
and shut the door
behind the whole family,
and light some candles,
and make some tea,
or pour some wine,
and sit down and say
"How was your day today?"
How was your day today? Thanks for reading.

My day was long, very long but it did have a cup of hot tea and a scarf in it. These are beautiful photos Tara, I like your findings in the bottom one alot. Night night!
Dear T-
My day was filled with
a frosty morning
coffee with our friend J
beautiful autumn light
a long uncompleted list of to-dos
a pot of tea
a wicked witching hour
osso bucco made by my love
and maybe too much introspection.

the day was never ending but the evening flew by. i finally got to buy groceries without thinking of pennies for the first time in almost a year. it was a giddy feeling.
love your findings today - especially the bits on the tea towel
i was just thinking i wanted it colder too. i love the scene you paint with your words. my day was okay but ended on a high note with dinner out and going to a judith jones reading.
My day felt frantic.
Meeting everyone else's deadlines
picking up
dropping off
supervising
cajoling
umpiring.
Luckily there was a bit of laughing and hugging sprinkled on top
which made it all
go down smoothly.
Oh Tara,
I am so grateful for the moment of calm, the expansive quiet space you create here. Thank you!
xoxo

Thanks for these words.
Since I have a day job, my life feels somewhat split in two. I do my work and then I leave it all behind and come home and do different work and mingle with my family. I enjoy driving my daughter to dance as it gives us a chance to talk about the day.
Your blog is a beautiful place to visit. I cherish my mornings here.
i really like this collect of photos today.
i'm wanting it colder too. seems last year this time i was wearing a scarf and warm coat and had a fire in the fireplace and hot spice tea at night. see, i usually take note of this day in particular because it's my birthday. ; )
my day is better after seeing that first picture.
I too, would like it a bit colder maybe with a bit of snow in the air. 'tis the season!
it wasn't long after i saw your fresh eggs picture on flickr that i found some fresh eggs myself. i can't wait to use them for thanksgiving pies.
i've missed you. and now i'm finally catching up.
